This article describes downloading the content of your OneDrive storage to a personal device so that it's available to you after the removal of your school account. This should be done from home on a device connected to the internet (a PC/Mac or laptop with ample storage is ideal).
1. Sign in to your school OneDrive at https://catrustorg-my.sharepoint.com/my
2. If the list of files and folders extends beyond the page, scroll down to the very bottom. This is crucial to ensure all items are selected in the next step.
3. Choose select all.
4. Look/scroll back through the list and unselect any Notebook files.
The option to download won't be available if you have any Notebooks selected. Folders containing notebooks are fine as the notebooks inside are ignored by select all. If you wish to preserve Notebooks in your OneDrive, see these instructions for converting Notebooks to a format that can be downloaded.
5. Choose download.
6. Save the file locally or to a personal cloud storage.
Your OneDrive content will be downloaded as a single .zip archive file from which your files and folders can be accessed and extracted.
IMPORTANT
Check the .zip file.
If your OneDrive has a complicated folder structure then there is a small chance that files nested deep within the structure will be missing from the zip file. This is unlikely, but it's worth checking that your most important pieces of work were included in the download.
If files are missing, go back to OneDrive web, navigate to those files, and download them directly.
Using the OneDrive app
If you're having trouble downloading your OneDrive content via a web browser - especially if the zip file is too large to download - you can instead sign in to the OneDrive app on a personal device with your school account and use the device's file explorer to copy your files and folders onto the devices local disk or alternative cloud storage.
