OneDrive can sometimes play up and not sync correctly, much like many other sync clients on the market, you'll know if you're not syncing correctly by seeing something either of the following:
The second one might appear if there is loads of files to sync so best left for a day or so to see if it clears, the first one is an error and needs resolving.
In the initial instance you can attempt resolution yourself with the following steps:
- As always please try restarting the computer first, chance are this will resolve it
- Drill down into the folders that have the red X, if it's just one or two files that are failed, simply double clicking on the file to open it will reveal the problem and probably give solutions to fix it
- Check if the file failing to sync is not MASSIVE, there is a 10GB limit (NOT 10MB) on the maximum file size
- Right click on the OneDrive for Business icon down by the clock in Windows and select Settings, Click on The Account Tab, Click on Choose Folders next to OneDrive - The Cam Academy Trust, uncheck/deselect the failing folders, click on OK, click on OK, let the Sync Client sort its self and check to see if there are any more failures, if not failing anymore, reverse the above steps and tick to select the folder again to sync
- Check to make sure you have enough space on your PC to sync everything, Go Into This PC in File Explorer, and check none of your drives show red and out of space
- Check the folder with the error to make sure there's not a file of the same name in that folder
If all that fails right click on the OneDrive For Business icon down by the clock and select 'View sync problems' and send that to support@catrust.co.uk for them to help.
If you find another solution to the problem please let us know and we'll add it to the list!
