Mute Student Chat in Class Teams

Students are not able to chat using the Chat tab in Teams without supervision, but they can chat in the Teams of which they are a member.

In Class Teams, a teacher can disable student chat for all students or individuals should they choose to do so.

1. In Teams, tap the ellipses (...) at the end of the Team name and go to Manage team
   
   
   
   
   
2. Select the 'Members' Channel
   
   
3. Select the drop down 'Member and guests', either select the mute all button or check each student you wish to mute
