Reinstall OneNote on iOS correctly

Note

We are going to reinstall OneNote on iOS and set it up afresh. Please specifically note steps 3 and 5 before going ahead.

It is not recommended that you do this at a time when you need OneNote as it might take a bit of time to retrieve what it needs. Consider doing this ahead of time at home or outside of school hours when there is less pressure on the network.

If the app is not working for you, but you need immediate access, you can sign in to https://onenote.com and access your notebooks in your device's browser.

Instructions

1. Ensure OneNote has synced any changes you have made to the cloud.
2. Uninstall the OneNote app from your device
3. Restart your device
4. Reinstall OneNote from the Self Service app
5. Disable auto attachment sync within the OneNote app
6. Tap 'More Notebooks' and add any notebooks you need

Explanation

Over time, the space which OneNote takes up on an iPad increases but never seems to decrease - even when we do things like 'Close Notebook'.

This can cause problems with space and functionality.

Ideally, we need to 'clear the cache' but in my testing, the feature to do this doesn't make any difference.

The truth is, the OneNote app isn't actually holding a full offline copy of your Class Notebooks - but as you access stuff over time, it might download content which clogs up the memory and causes problems.

Periodically reinstalling seems to be a healthy thing to do.
