Secure Print allows you to make sure that your printouts only get done when you're standing at the printer. This way, if anything is private or confidential, it cannot fall into the wrong hands.
To do this, you need to create a PIN (4 to 8 numerical digits) and adjust the printer settings on your device.
Set Up Your PC
Click the Start Button, type the word 'print' and click 'Printers and scanners'
Select the Copier from the list - you'll need to do this for Colour and BW if you use both
Select 'Printer Properties'
Select Preferences
Click 'Modify'
Change the Job Type to 'Locked Print'
the UserID to 'Windows Login Name'
and enter a numerical code in the password box, which will be used to unlock your printouts.
Click OK
You must repeat this for BW and Colour (if you have different setups for them)
At the Copier
When you print, you will need to do this at the copier - if you get stuck, ask the ladies in the office:
(photos coming soon)
- On the home screen of the copier, tap 'Quick Print Release'
- Select your name from the job list
- Change the keyboard to numbers (?123 bottom left)
- Enter the PIN you set and tap 'Done'
- Tap 'Ok'
- Select the required printout
- Tap 'Print'
- Tap 'Print' again
